             About Me

Growing up as a young girl, my role model was my mother. She loved to go jogging, and she bought me my first pair of running shoes when I was ten. I always admired her dedication, and to this day, she is still out pounding the pavement at 4 a.m. every morning!

I have always remained active by running, going to the gym, even competing in some bodybuilding competitions. But, somewhere along the way, I developed a disordered way of dealing with food. The howโ€™s and whys aren’t important to me at this point in my life, but what is important is how I dealt with the issue…not well at first. They say that things happen for a reason. Maybe that’s why chronic pain entered my life in 2004, shortly after completing a marathon. I was told not to run, that it was making my condition worse. That, and a subsequent surgery, made me weak, afraid of getting fat and looking for something to fill the void left from not being able to run. My sister ordered P90X off an infomercial and I laughed at her. After all, who orders a workout program off an infomercial?! Wellโ€ฆ a few months later when I saw what incredible results she was getting, I wanted in! I knew I couldnโ€™t do P90X because I was too weak after surgery, so I started with Power 90 and this is how my journey began. I did the workouts, got stronger and I learned what healthy eating looked like. You mean I actually could eat three meals a day AND snacks and lose weight? WOW!

Fast forward to today. I have done nearly all of the Beachbody programs. I finally got answers to my chronic pain and was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2011 and chronic Lyme disease in 2015. But my body is so much stronger today then it was when I started this journey. Mentally, I am stronger, and exercise makes me feel better! I won’t say that some days are not a struggle, but now I have the tools to deal with the chatter that sometimes enters my mind. Despite the pain that I deal with daily, I got back into running and have run several half marathons! I truly believe I would not have been able to do this without the help of the Beachbody products! I became a Beachbody Coach in 2008 because I truly believe in the effectiveness of what we have to offer.  And this is where you stop reading right?  You are saying to yourself, “she’s just a Beachbody Coach and just wants to sell me a product.”  But wait, read on my friend!

What I found through my own personal journey was that, even though the Beachbody products worked for me, they were not a good fit for everyone and they weren’t the complete picture in regards to helping people reach true wellness.  I needed more tools to help my fellow Fibro warriors and others too.  So I went to IIN to become a Health Coach.  While I loved it, I found the schooling there to be very limited in it’s scope for the complex population I wanted to help. Telling my clients to eat more kale and drink more water was only going to get them so far.  And while these are all great suggestions for the vast majority of people, I yearned for more knowledge to help my clients.  Since I was diagnosed with Fibro myself, I was always very interested in Functional Medicine and had been to a few practitioners myself.  However, what I found through my own journey was that you went to your Functional Practitioner every few months and was left with a basket of things to do with no idea how to implement them and lacking the support to do the same.  So, I found the The School for Applied Functional Medicine and have never looked back!  I’m such a geek when it comes to Functional Medicine and it is truly my passion.  I am now a Functional Medicine Practitioner and getting awesome results for my clients every day!   My mission has and always will be to help Fibromyalgia warriors be THEIR best self and to teach them how manage their condition through root cause medicine, diet, exercise, supplementation and lifestyle changes. The need is real and there are so many of us suffering needlessly.  But my scope is no longer limited to Fibromyalgia. Some of my specialties include hormone dysfunction, migraines, allergies, diabetes, auto immune dynamics, chronic Lyme, CFS, adrenal fatigue, Fibromyalgia etc. Basically, if you don’t feel well I can help you.

I have always been brutally honest about how I feel about Western Medicine.  I don’t dislike it. It serves a very real purpose.  However, those practitioners are not trained to help people get to the root causes of why they got sick in the first place.  That is a simple fact. They are trained in the bandaide method, the symptom management method.   For myself, I don’t believe medication is the answer and I’m living proof you can manage any condition naturally and even reverse it if you are your own advocate and have the proper support. Today, my toolbox is so very full!  I partner with a wide variety of supplement companies to provide my clients with a wide variety of options at a discount.  Every one of my clients programs are specialized and unique, because so are we!

Please be sure to check out the testimonials on this site.  Many of my clients come to me having exhausted Western Medicine.  Many of them have lost hope that they will ever get well.  To give them that hope back is truly a blessing to me and the reason why I do what I do.

I’d love to have you join me in the journey toward optimal wellness.  If you’d like to work with me please reach out.  I look forward to hearing from you.
