Ok yes, I’m a blogging slacker. So it’s Monday and I’m making it a goal to start blogging, to start, atleast once a week on a Monday. I will be sharing info on natural ways to manage your Fibro, what is working for me, recipes etc. If you’d like to see something in particular let me know. And please pardon the appearance here as I’m revamping the site.
So I often get questions about exercise. I often get accused of not having Fibro because I exercise every day. Let me set the record straight; I have Fibro and I suffer just like everyone else. What I refuse to do is let it win. To that end, I am my own advocate and I’m constantly researching ways to feel better without the use of medication.
I did not sleep well last night. But I knew if I got up and did not do my workout I’d be in more pain. So I got up and did my workout. I also walked my dog in the rain and cold. We all know what that means. More pain….
To balance that all out I took a nap around 3:30. It’s all about figuring out the balance for YOU. Does that come easy? No, I don’t think so. And it’s different for each one of us.
What I do know is that we need to move. What that looks like for each of us is different. And over time you will get stronger and be able to do more. But if you don’t move, in some capacity, your muscles will get tighter. Your joints and tendons, as a result, will get tighter and inflexible which may lead to injuries. Who needs injuries on top of Fibro!? If we are stronger we are better able to manage and fight this condition that afflicts us. I will not lie, if you haven’t moved in awhile, it’ll hurt. You will have the regular muscular pain on top of the Fibro pain. But that will pass. Keep moving forward, drinking your recovery drink, your water and feed your body clean nutrition. And most importantly, listen to your body. It will tell you what it needs!
If you need help with getting started let me know! Until next week….
